MapGirl, After using the Yoga C930 for a few weeks now in a very quiet working environment (Formica desktop, AC office set at approximately 72-degrees F, and in low light conditions), I have yet to hear the laptop's fan kick in. In fact, a friend of mine just earlier today complained about how loud his fan is on his old Dell. That is when I thought, hmmm, don't think I've heard mine kick on yet. So, I went back to it and listened for it. It's on, but it's so quiet. Hope that helps!t

The Yoga C930-14 also uses an internal fan to maintain proper operating temperatures. You will hear the fan when it is operating within the Yoga C930-14.
