“Is it required to have a exhaust hood on top of the microwave? Seems unusual that there is no exhaust hood to allow the smoke to release. Thank you, B”

• The LG 2.2 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave, Model # LMHM2237ST does not have a means by which you can vent directly to the outside. The Vent feature within the units allows you to remove steam and other vapors from the surface of the cooktop. The slide out ventilation extends the hood to provide a more powerful means of gathering smoke and steam from the cooktop and this can be vented outside via a hood or other exhaust system. ^CP
