A:AnswerI have used microwaves with exterior venting, and no venting.
When we didn't vent our microwaves the moisture that comes from the interior is vented out into your kitchen. Depending on the make and manufacturer if may vent out the top, bottom etc. But that moisture accumulates in your kitchen and in our case the exhausted moisture vented downward and since heat rises, the underneath surfaces of my upper cabinets was destroyed,as well as the finish of my upper cabinets above the microwave.
This happened with 3 different micro. On the 3rd micro we saw it was going to do the same bad venting into my kitchen, which by the way raises the humidity in your kitchen making it like a sweat box while cooking,it can also cause food smells to stay in your home, staining cabinets and paint and wallpaper., especially if you are into frying foods. When we vented our last two microwaves we no longer had all the nasty problems I noted here. Venting outside is much better, and I will never go with the ventless installation, again. Also going ventless shortened the life of the over the stove mounted microwaves significantly.
I don't care if you spend $100 or $1000, ..even a $100 is a lot of money to waste, when you have to work so hard to earn it.
Hope my honest answer saves some of you trouble and expense.
A:AnswerYes. I have this microwave and I have vented to outside. Works pretty well - it has enough air flow to flip the check valve on the vent cover outside. Note: the fan is loud though. Loud in the kitchen and probably not because I am venting outside (that probably quiets it a bit). Also there is no way to wipe of the glass on inside of door due to mesh screen. Other brands use a front pane of glass and a back pane of glass and the mesh screen is in between so you can wipe of the glass.
A:AnswerNo you won't feel the from below at all. The vent area is where the fan pulls the air into along with the fumes and the through filters and the air is blown back into the air at the front top of the microwave.
A:AnswerHello Sanchezchu, This model does not have an Auto Vent Fan, but when the LG 2.2 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with EasyClean®, Model # LMHM2237ST is cooking, the vent fan turns on automatically if the sensors detect too much heat from the cooktop to prevent microwave component damage...^IFV
A:AnswerYes. As stated in the description of the microwave , the unit can be vented. A 10 minute fan rotation is required and is easy to do. Mounting the unit may be difficult since it is recommended not to support the microwave from the bottom due to potential damage to the slide out intake at the bottom. Overall, a nice microwave and exhaust.
A:AnswerHI Landa, the W x H x D dimensions for the interior of the LG - 2.2 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - Stainless Steel, Model # LMHM2237ST are given as: 22" x 11 5/8" x 14 5/8" which when converted to decimals are: 22" x 14.625" x 14.625". To calculate cubic feet, you would have to multiply the W x H x D and that would give you cubic inches (3,740.34) which when converted to cubic feet is 2.165 cubic feet that is rounded off as 2.2 cubic feet...^IFV
A:AnswerAs an Over-the-Range oven, this unit is designed to be installed between your upper kitchen cabinets above your Countertop or the cooking surface of a gas or electric range oven. It can be vented in one of three ways, Roof-Venting, Wall Venting or Room Venting. The unit is shipped with the blower assembled for Roof-Venting and you would need to change the blower for Wall-Venting or Room-Venting. The minimum distance that this unit can be installed above a range oven or Countertop is 30" before installation from the upper kitchen cabinet. The Extenda vent slides out horizontally to cover the entire cooktop back to front so it can provide ventilation to help reduce smoke and lingering cooking smells. The filter under the unit may angle down about an inch or two at most in the rear under the unit when activated. It cannot be removed. A:AnswerInstructions are included and are quite clear on how to change the venting from the top (the default way the unit is shipped) to the back. Venting to the outside is preferred and homes are often equipped with either top through a cabinet and ceiling, or back wall venting. The unit can also be vented into the kitchen, but in my mind this rather defeats the purpose of venting. Ours is installed over a gas range and works very well, with three fan speeds.
The most difficult part of converting to back wall from top venting is removing the “cutouts” on the back of the unit. Instructions state to use tin snips to carefully cut the small tabs holding the back vent plates in place without bending or damaging the back panel. The holes the installer is instructed to use for the tin snips are far too small for most tin snip blades.
A:AnswerThe exhaust fan is for the range below the unit and has multiple speeds. It can exhaust outside (requires additional parts) or recirculated through filters. Inside the microwave there isn’t a separate exhaust fan, in fact there are sensors to detect steam that maybe used to automatically warm and heat food properly. The sound of an exhaust fan that I thought you referenced could be the sound of the magnetron, in this unit it is quieter but still powerful.
A:AnswerThe interior of the LG 2.2 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven with EasyClean®, Model # LMHM2237ST is not plastic, it is an EasyClean® interior, which is an enamel...^IFV
A:AnswerYes. I made the same upgrade and depth of the microwave makes it sits out a little more from the cabinet than the previous model. The width is the same.
A:AnswerI was told from Geek Squad this one fits in any microwave area as they pretty much have universal size. Only the holes might have to be drilled new in the wall or cubboards
