It's slightly wider at the base at 25-1/8 inches.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the same TV about 1 month ago. It is exactly 25 inches wide. From outer left edge to outer right edge it's 25 inches. BTW, he'll probably need a soundbar for this television. It has a nice picture and I like how it stands on its own and has a white frame. All cool, but the sound is a little weak no matter what setting it's in. It might be especially important for an older person who needs a little more volume. I bought an LG sound bar for around $75 and it works great. It's only 24 in wide so it's not even as long as the television. I said it on the cabinet behind the television and it sounds fine, definitely better than the TV speakers.
