Do you a recommend using a specific kind of surge suppressor/protector with this refrigerator? Seller suggested the Monster PowerCenter AP 200 but I cannot find it anywhere, apparently it is discontinued.

Typically, Large Appliances such as the LG - Door-in-Door 29.9 Cu. Ft. 4-Door French Door Refrigerator with Thru-the-Door Ice and Water, Model # LMXS30776S are less susceptible to power surges and brown outs than other electrical devices. Monster is not the only maker of surge protectors that Best But Carries and all surge protectors have characteristics that make them suitable for particular devices. Some companies make protectors that protect the entire house like those made by Leviton, there are extremely effective protectors made by Panamax that Best Buy Carries and Best Buy also have their house Brands like Insignia or Rocketfish!
Ask the seller to compare those to the Monster, I'm sure they have something that will work just as well if not better! You could also check Best Buy online for their selection of surge protectors and they can find them from any of their warehouses or other stores through various resources!...IFV

It should be on a dedicated circuit breaker, that's all you need.

This advice is dependent on the type of refrigerator you have. One of the posts states they have had a refrigerator for 50 years and have never needed one. And that would be true of a basic unite. Our new refrigerator has a smart system with WiFi and a full touch screen, if you have this type of equipment the properly rated surge system is more for the smart components that the compressor and is a must. Repairs for the smart computer could run north of 1500

No, it is not needed. The fridge works fine without surge protector.

If the outlet is not a GFCI or tied into one, then purchase a surge protector based on the amperage of the circuit breaker that outlet is tied to... meaning equal to.

I have had refrigerators for 50 years. I have never used a surge protector and never lost a fridge yet. However, if you want to be safe, just make sure the surge device is rated for refrigerators. It doesn't mean your fridge won't be fried in an electrical storm or major power surge, it just buys you insurance from the surge protection company.
