A:AnswerGas dryers can be vented through the knockout panel on the left side of the unit as you are facing it. They cannot be vented out the right side, however. The electrical dryers have the options of being vented out the back, right, and left because there are no restrictions re: the gas connection. If space is a concern, they make a rigid flatter dryer vent that takes up less room. Not sure that is up to code but it does exist.
