To ensure sufficient clearance for water inlet hoses, drain hose and airflow, allow minimum clearances of at least 1'' (2.5 cm) at the sides and 4'' (10 cm) behind the appliance. Be sure to allow for wall, door, or floor moldings that may increase the required clearances. ^Daphane

There is a round knock out panel on the left side (left side is determined when you are facing the unit). You can either buy a side vent kit from LG or have your installer (prolly not BestBuy) rig up something that will work. It does require changing the direction of the internal, rigid vent so it travels to the left rather than out the back. This workaround allows the LG tower to fit closer to the back wall in tight space situations. Hope this idea helps someone in the future.
