Do i need to use the vent hose when i use the ac? null

The vent hose lets the heat escape, leaving only the cool air. You will want to use the vent hose to allow the air to cool.

All Air Conditioners need to dump the hot moist air that they extract from the room that you are cooling somewhere and the best place is outside. The LP1217GSR uses the exhaust vent hose to vent that moist hot air to the outside through your window. Without the exhaust vent hose attached, that moist hot air would just be recycled back into your room, but it would also cause the unit to malfunction. ^CP
