Turn on power, turn dial to NORMAL, press SIGNAL button in bottom-right of panel. Light above SIGNAL will come on and you'll hear a "ding".

Mine went off (I think my son managed to turn it off without meaning to), but if I turned on the washer, then held down the "COLD WASH" button (upper left corner) it turned the signal back on. Hope you figured it out!

The washing machine plays a melody when the wash cycle has finished. The volume of the melody is adjusted using the signal button. Press the signal button repeatedly to adjust the volume of the signal. When no signal is heard, the signal is off. The volume settings are low-high-off. The signal volume can be adjusted at any time as long as the washer is turned on. ^CP

I reset mine by pressing "power" and "cycle signal" buttons at the same time and hold it for 15 to 20 seconds.

11-6-2023 Chimes went off. Nothing seemed to turn them on. The on this site I found do this, Start, dial to Heavy Duty, the press Cold button for 3 seconds, Chimes come on. Then all chimes work again. Thank you.

I have an LG WT7400CV. The chime melody all of a sudden stopped sounding. No mention of how to restore it in the manual. I ended up pressing the button labeled "Signal * Control Lock" in the lower right corner of the control panel. That did it! That is the on/off button for the chime.

Tried all the options and nothing worked…. on my machine I have a cold wash, signal button all the way over top right side of my machine.  Held that until it beeped.  Praise God it worked!

Mine didn't go off completely, but would only play "low", It wouldn't play high anymore which was quite frustrating as i couldn't hear it unless i was standing right in front of the washer. I tried some of the things mentioned above, but the one that worked was pressing the "cold wash" button on the panel on the right, right below "turbo wash". That's all and the High sound came back immediately. Thank you JustJess!!!!

There are multiple reports of this issue here Cathy so it may be a system fault. One thing you can try is to unplug the washer and leave it for 30 minutes to give the logic board to fully drain and subsequently set everything back to defaults. You have a good chance of it working this way.

Another way is to connect the washer to the Internet and use the LG app to enable the sound again.

Unplug the washer, let it sit for 10 minutes or so which gives the backup capacitors time to drain and then plug it back in. You do this so the machine resets back to defaults and your chimes should reappear. They were either disabled by you on accident somehow or some glitch in the board disabled them. Give this a shot.
