• I mostly use a harmony remote but do occasionally grab the tv remote to navigate through some menus. The tv remote is not a must have though, you can stream Netflix with the harmony if you want to, it's just a little easier with the pointer.

• Not sure about the Harmony 450 but I gottheHarmony 650 to work with most functions including cox cable, avr receiver ,apple TV
