“The picture is not really crisp, I'm trying every picture mode and ratio (Vertical) so that the full picture is seen and nothing seems to sharpen it up. What is best ? ALSO, how can I shut the smart voice off--too annoying when changing channels etc.”

The picture quality depends on the source. An hd source is good. 4k is the best source if available to you. If you using a straight cable line it will not be the best quality. What are you trying to use with it?
