No it uses WiFi
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The TV has WiFi built in and can connect to your WiFi very easily. It will prompt you when you turn your TV on for the first time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not necessarily. Probably most if not all can use a wi-fi connection. If one is streaming Netflix or Amazon through the native app on the "smart" tv, one is going to be better off using a wired connection, but its not necessary.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A wired connection will always be faster than a wireless connection; however, I have gigabit internet with a great router, so 4K HDR streaming is no problem for me over WiFi. If you have a slower internet connection (<30Mps), I would recommend getting an ethernet cable and connecting it to your router, so you can maximize your speeds. But, if your internet connection is >50Mps, you don't have 20 devices connected to the same router, and you have a good, higher-quality router, I'd say you're fine with WiFi. Most routers and TVs have 802.11ac radio transmitters, which are the fastest radios for WiFi networking (802.11g/802.11n are the others, with g being the slowest). If you are looking for a new router, make sure it's 802.11ac for faster WiFi speeds (though, these days, it's harder to find ones that are not 802.11ac, as it is pretty much the industry standard). Lastly, if you have gigabit internet, make sure you have at least a cat5e ethernet cable to take full advantage of your internet speeds. Cat6 has more bandwidth, but is unnecessary, unless you're using a lot of bandwidth for one device.
