Excellent TV, with one issue...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a Panasonic Plasma TV for years and didn't like ANY LCD TV on the market to date. With the Exception of OLED, all television sets produced are LCD TV sets designed to confuse the average consumer. I.E. LED, QLED are LCD based television sets, they all require a back light to illuminate the panel and while they have some advantages, I've been consistently disappointed with the refresh rates, off angle viewing and lack of true blacks. OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) is the best technology you can get, it doesn't get any better than this, in fact it's basically the same technology used in Samsung's Galaxy phones, of course Apple is finally catching up with the iPhone X....I won't even go there. This TV is well worth the extra money you'll spend because the picture and sound is nearly perfect (even better) when compared to a Plasma display. I love all the features of this set, there are so many, I couldn't possibly list all of them. The Web OS is great as it gives you access to so many apps, not just Netflix and Amazon, again too many to list. For the best picture, be sure to turn of Trumotion, this will give you the "soap opera effect", basically it makes the image look unrealistic and overly processed. Many manufacturers have different names for this technology, but they all make (in my humble opinion) the picture look cheesy. You could spend hours calibrating the picture, I've found that the Preset Bright room expert mode is the best. I've tried tweaking and fine tuning different settings and the result is a less than desirable picture. The good news is that if you do adjust a setting and you're unhappy with the results, you can always revert back to the default setting. I also like the option to apply the picture setting to all inputs, again this is just my personal preference. Some reviewers have stated they needed an additional sound bar, which is understandable if you want true depth and clarity, but I'm quite content with the capable speakers built into the lower part of the TV. As for the cons, OLED technology of this caliber is still somewhat new, hence the expense and possible issues down the road. This type of display can develop burn in over time, best advice, don't leave a still image on too long. I've also read that LG has horrible customer service as well. This is why I opted to get the geek squad extended five year warranty. I've viewed some 4k content from Netflix and it looks fabulous, but I'm holding off on a 4k player right now because of the expense and lack of movie titles available. Watching 1080P HD is just fine or i'll use my blu ray player for the time being. So the only issue I have is intermittent and highly annoying which is why I deducted one star. I have Xfinity here and on occasion I've been getting snow (yes snow) along with an on and off flicker. I don't believe the issue is with Xfinity, if I turn off the TV, then back on, the problem goes away. If anyone else has had this issue please let me know! Other than that problem, this is money well spent and you won't be disappointed.

Gorgeous picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was replacing a Sony 2016 model 930D which had developed picture trouble. Best Buy gave full store credit to use choosing a replacement. I compared the 2017 Sony 930E to the LG OLED55C7 and decided to purchase the LG. It does not have the top rated light output of the Sony, however its color fidelity is outstanding. Once I adjusted the colors and brightness using settings recommended in LG user forums I was able to dial in the TV to great results. The picture for 4K DVD's and Streaming in 4K via Amazon Prime is exceptional. Sports, particularly NHL is as clear a picture as I have seen on any TV. I am very pleased with this purchase.

New Technology, Great Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is not a backlit set. Pixels turn on and off so this is nothing you ever seen before. Takes some getting used to but what a beautiful realistic looking picture. Compare side by side in store to be sure this is for you. I think your going to love it.

LG - 55" Class - OLED - C7 Series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I fell in love with this TV instantly. I am a huge gamer and was looking for a display that was bigger than a monitor but with low latency and really clear images for a TV; this was it. The C series of Tv's were designed with gamers in mind. I plan on upgrading to the CX. the only issue I had was I left a still image on my TV for several hours (fell asleep while playing a game). I completely understand that this was my fault, but when I called Geek Squad to come take a look (I had purchased the extended warranty) and they saw the burned image I had in the Tv, they said that it wasn't "bad enough" for the warranty to fix it. It is just very frustrating that I purchased the extended warranty that clearly states that covers still / shadow images. I am not saying that the warranty is not worth it. I personally feel with larger purchases like this, the warranty is always a good idea. I just wish that they would have attempted to fix the TV. I attached an image of the burn, in my review. I circled the burned image in red.

Man cave dream TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to up grade my older tv in my man cave that was over10 years old and reviewed the oled 4K’s for almost 6 months before deciding on this wonderful LG. I love movies and watching sports and wanted a tv that would work well in both those areas and this one does the trick at a very good price. While watching movies it is sometimes disappointing that things are too clear and you see the movie as a closeup play with the people being viewed with their little imperfections that you don’t even see in the movie theater because this screen is so clear, or cheesy props being used in a scene. Sports are more fun to watch and I have not found anything to complain about with this model.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between the C7 model and the E7 model? There is quite a price difference.
Asked by Abe.
- A:Answer From what I understand, cosmetics and the e7 has a built in soundbar. The e7 also has the oled panel closer to the glass. All 2017 lg oleds use the same panels and processors, whether you get a b7 or w7, you will get the same picture quality.

Q: QuestionHow much better is the picture versus a 4K TV when watching HD cable programs?
Asked by tonyda.
- A:Answer The picture is slightly better when watching hd cable due to the ability to make true blacks, it makes a little more detail stand out. Where you see the night and day difference is when watching a true native 4k signal I.e. 4k blu ray, then to take it to the next level watching it in dolby vision. The picture will move you emotionally. Most people I've showed it to become speechless.

Q: QuestionI'm thinking about buying this TV to go along with my new Xbox One X, but worried about permanent "burn in" from static in-game images. Anyone had this happen? Any tips for preventing permanent image "burn in" from gaming on OLED TV's?
Asked by Eruppert.
- A:Answer I just bought this TV for my Xbox one S. It’s an amazing tv with sick picture quality. The tv has features to prevent burn in such as slightly moving the image to prevent burn in. I left this feature on and couldn’t see any visual difference. This was a huge plus for me because it helps protect from image burn in and it’s unnoticed. There is also a pixel refresher that runs for 1 hour if burn in does occur. This will eliminate the burned in image. Also, there is a screen saver that triggers if the image is left idle for a few minutes. So I would recommend this tv to you for sure.
