“Does truemotion 120 give you the soap opera effect? Will this TV have any significant software updates in the future? My current LG (55LB6300-UQ) hasn't had any software upgrades that actually made the experience better for me.”

Hi Mikeq. Firmware upgrades for TVs are typically released to address certain issues on a TV and they are not that frequent. Regrettably, there is no way of knowing when a firmware upgrade will be made available for the LG UK6090PUA 4K HDR Smart LED UHD TV - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # 65UK6090PUA or for any TV and it is recommended that you set your TV to receive updates automatically so that when an update becomes available, your TV will automatically be upgraded. TruMotion is LG's name for motion interpolation which is also known as 'Soap Opera Effect'. Motion interpolation is a feature that increases a video’s frame rate, usually up to the maximum frame rate of the TV. This has the effect of making movements look smoother, clearer, and more lifelike than what you typically see from movies and TV, pretty similar to the look of movement in soap operas, hence the alternate name of ‘soap opera effect’.
