We understand your inquiry about the "thump/thump" noise you are hearing while the dryer is running, even when empty. We understand your concern, and we want to assure you that this sound is often considered normal. This thumping noise may occur if the rubber rollers that help rotate the drum become temporarily misshapen, which can happen if the dryer is not frequently used or is located in a cold area . A simple troubleshooting step you can take is to run a drying cycle. As the dryer runs and the drum warms up, the flat spots on the rubber rollers will typically regain their shape, and the thumping noise will dissipate.
