I can play music from my phone via and Aux Cord attached to the front? I'm not convinced on quality of bluetooth so I need a backup option if it doesn't sound as great as a direct connection.

Absolutely yes! 3.5mm mini plug male to male cable and you are in business. Bluetooth works great, but there is no substitute imho for wire. Hope this helps, God Bless You.

Well put it on portable and plug in a 3.5mm jack to the stereo and the phone thats what i do its perfect love this Lg
