QuestionIs this unit loud enough for house parties? (~400 square feet)Hi, I was just wondering if this unit is loud enough to carry music at a loud level across big room of about 400 square feet?

- Answer Yes. I have never exceeded position 25 out of 36 on the main volume and can hear it in every room of my 1100 square foot manufactured home. But of course we have to define "Loud", and the damage to the speakers that high volumes (read as high input wattage) can create. I would say cranking it up to 80% volume would be loud enough to not get the cops called, but still enjoyable. It's a one room party box by design, keep that in mind. Hope this helps, God Bless You.

- Answer The speakers for the LG 700W 2.1ch Mini Shelf System with Built-in Subwoofer and Bluetooth®, Model # CM4550 require wiring and they can be placed as far from the main unit as the length of the supplied wires will allow...^IFV

QuestionCD'SHow many CD'S can the system hold?

- Answer Only one at a time. The unit is aimed at MP3 play through flash drive (stick drive) technology. The CD is an after-thought to the primary use of the MP3 on flash drive. Multi-disc players while convenient have a great deal less longevity and reliability than a single disc player, so this was not a factor in selecting the unit for me. I'm using the MP3 player with flash drives or my phone for playback, and I have my TV/Satellite system hooked into it. All works well. Hope this helps, God Bless You

- Answer Yes you can connect additional speakers with a separate box you can purchase. You connect speakers wires to box. It allows you to switch between one set or another or both. it's very reasonable $30 range

- Answer This product has Bluetooth. It does not output Bluetooth. It receives Bluetooth signal from devices.

- Answer The Alligator clips in the rear of the LG 700W 2.1ch Mini Shelf System with Built-in Subwoofer and Bluetooth® only allow for the 2 speakers that come with the unit. Adding additional speakers to it would overload the output amp and burn it out...^IFV

QuestionCan headphones be hooked up to the lg cm4550 mini stereo? Some owners say no and others say yes. There is an outlet in the front on the left side of the system and my headphone jack fits in it but the headphone does not work.

- Answer The port in the front on the left side on the LG - 700W Mini Shelf System, Model # CM4550 that you are referring to is not an output port that you can plug headphones into. That is the Port In, (described on page 17 of your owner's manual), that you can connect a mini stereo (3.5 mm (TRS) - sometimes referred to as 1/8") cable from the headphone output on your phone or portable device to play audio from the device through the speakers of the CM4550. It's the same size as your headphone plug which is why it fits, but it does not output sound, it's an input. There is no way to connect headphones to this unit...^IFV

- Answer There is a "Base Boost" button, but to tell the truth I don't detect very much of a difference in the sound when it's on or off.

- Answer Hi EMan. The wires for the LG XBOOM 700W 2.1ch Mini Shelf System with Built-in Subwoofer and Bluetooth®, Model # CM4550 are typically about 6-8' long. Speaker wire is identified by the gauge of the speaker wire and for this unit, it is either 16 gauge or 18 gauge. Best Buy carries either gauge and will sell it in rolls of varying length. Keep in mind that the supplied wire has a proprietary plug on the end that plugs into the receiver so you will need to attach one onto the longer wire you want to replace it with if you don't want to splice the wire...^IFV

- Answer Hi Biggs. Depending on what type of audio output you have on your TV, you should be able to connect it to the LG 700W 2.1ch Mini Shelf System with Built-in Subwoofer and Bluetooth®, Model # CM4550. If your TV is an older TV that has the Analog Stereo RCA Audio Output on it (Red/White barrel ports), you can connect directly to the AUX In (L/R) on the CM4550 and use the pre-set surround sound fields in the CM4550. If it's a more current TV, then it more than likely has an Optical Digital Audio Output as the only audio output. To connect to that type of port, you will need to purchase a Digital/Amalog Converter. If your local Best Buy store is not carrying these devices, you can find it through their online site. The CM4550 also supports Bluetooth and if your TV is BLuetooth enabled, you might be able to pair with the CM4550 to stream audio wirelessly via Bluetooth...^IFV

- Answer The only way to prevent this is by turning the unit off, or have your Bluetooth device ready when you turn the stereo on so it will connect to yours. Once it's connected to yours, it's locked until you turn your Bluetooth off. ^CP
