“Is there software needed to get this to work? I cannnot get it to read CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays. If so what is the software called and where can I find it? Thank you for the help in advance.”

Mine came with a dvd which you inserted and it automatically set up everything to work. IIf you don't have the disc or it doesn't work properly, you can download free software online that will also work.
