• No, just twist to left until it stops and pull gently. Then push new one in and twist to right until it stops, your done.

• No my plumber was able to put in the water hose without turning off the water.

• The water supply does not need to be shut off in order to change the filter. There may be a little water leaked or spilled that is easily cleaned up with a towel or paper towel.
