I hate that about this washer. I want my clothes COVERED. The setting I was told to use when I called LG is called "Bulky/Bedding." You can always hit the add water button which is not easy to figure out because they call it "Water plus" and not "add or extra water," which I think would have been easier to figure out. BUT you have to go back after you have selected it and make sure it does add extra water. That is a pain in my behind that I was NOT expecting when I bought this machine. If I had it to do all over again, I would not have bought this machine. I hate all of its pre-programmed settings and wish I had just stuck with the old fashioned kind that you could open the lid and add an item without having to waste valuable time standing there while it finishes spinning to unlock the lid. I also don't like that it won't start filling the water as you are adding clothes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can add water with add water button, sometime you need to monitor and push it a second time. Also you can add second rinse to complete rinse of soap. Took some experimenting when new, now got it down.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I HATE this LG washer. I've used it for 1 year now and wish I never bought it. My 22-year-old Maytag Performa washer was SO MUCH BETTER at cleaning clothes which is the point right?! I have to "babysit" my LG washer. I start the cycle so some water has mostly dampened the clothes, then I pause the machine, and restart...seems to make it think it needs more water and actually puts enough water in to get all the clothes wet. Otherwise, all the regular pre-programed settings leave some of my clothes on top dry...untouched by water and/or detergent visible on the clothes and not dissolved into the water (I've used dry and liquid HE detergents and same either way). If the machine is paused for more than 3 minutes, it starts to drain the tub. Many times I have paused the machine to add clothes, clean mildew in the tray, etc and then am surprised that the machine starts automatically draining the just filled washer tub with all the detergent that I just put into it. This premature drain feature is the WORST! It wastes my time, water, soap, and electricity. Ugh! If someone was to offer me a free LG washer, I'd say, "No thank you." I'd rather spend $1,000 on a washing machine that works, is easy to understand, and does what it claims, than receive a free LG washer that I have to babysit with every load and hope my clothes come out 80% clean.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hubby also has some sensitive skin problems, but although this washer uses less water, everything is much softer than with my previous machine. He says that he really can tell the difference.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This rinses better than the top Samsung it submerges the clothes in water to Them
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. With the new machines, I'm not sure that all the soap gets removed, either. I always use the "extra rinse" cycle on my new LG machine and feel much better about it. No soap smell, no icky feel to the fabric.
