i just bought a mac pro retina about 1 1/2 months ago with el capitan and it works on it

It works with my 2010 MacBook and 2012 Mac Mini, so I would assume yes (retina makes no difference, far as I know.)

It works fine with my 2012 Mac Mini and my 2010 MacBook Pro (non retina). Chances are, it will work with any Mac made in the last 5 - 6 years (possibly older ones too).

Yes. But format issues have been a drag. Original copies seem to be doing well. Apple product would be a better way to go.

It works fine on my Mac Book Air with current OS X updates. I suspect it will work fine on a MacBook Pro.

This external drive is compatible with Mac OS X (10.7.5).
