• Yes has wire for computer but not sure how it hooks up with Mac. Probably with same usb cable

• It comes with a detachable usb cable that connects it to the computer (or other devices). The usb connection also powers the cd drive. The cd drive can open and close without being connected via the usb cable, but the cd drive can't power on\off or run any other functions without being connected via the usb cable to another device. Matthew 7:12
