• The only difference between this LG Ultra-Slim Portable DVD Burner & Drive with M-DISC™ Support, Model # SP80NB60 other than features and if you had an internal DVD drive in your computer is just that this is external & the other is internal so it will work the same way. Dpending on which Windows operating system you have, you will have to change the boot order or boot sequence in your BIOS for bootable media in the USB port. Most computers use the F12 Key to access the Boot Menu...^IFV

• Yes, it will be recognized as a regular drive. Just change the boot menu order in your bios screen to boot from cd rom drive first.

• Yes you can boot from this device but I would only do that if you need to reinstall Windows or put your backup back on the PC or Laptop. Set it to the first drive in the Boot Menu of your device.

• Yes it will work as a Boot Device as long as your UEFI (BIOS) has the USB port that you are connecting it to set as a boot drive.
