I would think that it would work if the signal were available as a USB port. If your Direct TV does not have a USB output then you would need an interface device or record from your PC. Nero and other vendors support recording from VCR and other sources and I would think that you could get an adapter that would work. Search Amazon for "VHS to DVD" converters.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know the specific answer to your question. However, there are no ports on the recorder itself to attach something, but if you can get what your want to your computers hard drive you can then save it to this recorder. I hope this helps.
