I would think that it would work if the signal were available as a USB port. If your Direct TV does not have a USB output then you would need an interface device or record from your PC. Nero and other vendors support recording from VCR and other sources and I would think that you could get an adapter that would work. Search Amazon for "VHS to DVD" converters.

I do not think so. I connected my Direct TV and it requires an a different connection, east I believe. I found an instructional video clip on YouTube!!!

I don't think it is possible to record from DirecTV. If it is, every video pirate in the known universe would have DirecTV. I could be wrong, but I have never heard of doing such a thing.

I don't know the specific answer to your question. However, there are no ports on the recorder itself to attach something, but if you can get what your want to your computers hard drive you can then save it to this recorder. I hope this helps.

I don't think that is possible as you would need an operating system to start the recording and the unit is not self supporting and lacks push buttons for that feature.

To record from directv receiver you need a flash drive or in some models you can use an external HDD, check for compatibilities with directv tech suport or the manual of your directv receiver
