It should work.but without 4k tv it won't do much more than any plain old blu ray

This will work with any TV that has HDMI input port (even if the TV isn't HD). It does play regular DVD, blu ray and 4K.

You can set the output to various resolutions or let it detect the output device. Of course an HDTV (1080p) can't resolve a 4k (2160) movie. I don't have a 3D 4k, but non-3d format displays fine.

The player will work on HDTV i.e. 1K tv's. It will play all the disks 4K, Bluray, and DVD. It will play all of those disks to the maximum resolution of your TV.
