This no frills (WiiFi apps ect my tv dose that anyway) is a great player. Plays 4k movies flawlessly. Im even using my HDMI cable I was using with my Blu-ray player (Hi speed Sonny cable) instead of buying those 80$ ones the sales person advised me to buy.

Very happy w/ this model-4K HDR + 3D Blu Ray player at this price compare to other brands that cost $200 plus. Picture is great even w/ just DVD, enjoyed watching 3D to my Sony XBR-65X850A Bravia.

Given the price and what else is out there, it's a great player for 4K discs. A lot of the picture quality is obviously going to depend on your TV and the movie itself, but this loads discs quickly, is easy to use, and doesn't come with a lot of bells and whistles - it just plays movies well. I was actually most impressed by the upscaling for DVD's and blu-rays. They look significantly better with this player than with my old LG blu-ray player (which still works fine - this just works better, particularly with a 4K TV). I've been quite pleased with it.

Since I have a 4K TV, I figured I'd shop for a 4K Blu-Ray player. I saw this 4K HDR Blu Ray on sale at Best Buy for $99. I thought the price was a steal, so I purchased. The picture quality is great. What I like the most, is the player not only plays 4K Blu-Ray disc in native 4K HDR resolution, it upconverts standard Blu-Ray disc to an upscaled 4k resolution, as well, as DVDs, depending on HDMI cable. In addition, the player can play, just about any other kind of disc, including re-writable disc. Now, this player will NOT play disc for gaming! To see resolution in HDR from 4K Blu-Ray disc, the user's 4K TV must have HDR. My TCL 55p605 does. However, during HDR playback from 4K Blu-Ray disc, the images on my particular TV showed a bit dim. However, I now have a 4K HDR HDMI cable, which I'll mention, later. NOW, the images show brighter and improved sound quality. The player also plays 3D disc. Of course, a 3D TV is needed. The player is easy to set up and use, even for non-tech savvy individuals. The player comes with one USB port, where users can connect a USB to see their pictures and videos. Plus, an optical port to connect a soundbar. Plus, an Ethernet port to connect to a router for firmware updates. Of course, I do NOT like that this player does not have a wireless connection, but not a deal-breaker. Overall, this is a good 4K player. However, I would suggest some high-end HDMI cables, preferably by AudioQuest to get the most out of the performance. Of course, this all depends on the type of TV the user has on HDR playback.

So easy to spend mega bucks on the latest greatest technology... but this was all I needed to play 4K UHD on a new smart TV. The higher priced players are "smart" and "wireless" and whaddever and I just don't need that. The TV is already smart enough and don't need any more thinking machines to play a video disc. Set up was easy peasy, just plug in and connect HDMI cable, a couple of quick settings on the player (the defaults were just fine) and off and running. Had to try out the "Blue Earth II" that just came out in 4K, and played exactly as it is supposed to. Older DVD player was showing DVDs in about 1/2 the screen (kind of a suprise when first hooking up the TV to the old DVD player) and this LG Player upscaled the old DVDs just fine and gives and really nice picture. Just watched some of The Incredibles and doggone if it is not VERY nice quality picture. This gives me renewed hope for enjoying those oldies but goodies that I spent a bundle on over the years! Streaming hi-def movies and shows is nice, but man oh man I got lots of good movies that are still worth watching for the umpteenth time, and now I can enjoy them in extra fidelity thanks to the upscaling on this LG player. Spend more if you want to, this one has all you need to replace the old DVD player without breaking the bank. Spend the money you saved on Blue Earth II and see what 4K is all about!

I have no need for streaming capability or WiFi (has Ethernet) in a DVD player and do not want to pay for these features, yet still require a 4K HDR player. The LG UP875 meets that requirement very well and the holiday price of less than some HD DVD players made it that more a better deal. The player works just fine out of the box with default settings and a 4K HDMI cable is required or it will not work at all. The settings menu allows for tweaking if required. My only complaint is the remote is missing a direct access Subtitle button and I have to go through the settings menu to turn on or off the subtitles as required. There are no settings for HDR, it is automatic and my TV will indicate when HDR content is being played. If you are considering jumping up to 4K and HDR, this unit will do the trick very well at a very affordable holiday price.

I wanted something that was compatible with my LG Ultra 4K television. This 4K Ultra HD 3D Blu-ray Player for the discounted price on Black Friday was a Great value. I wish it had Wi-Fi capabilities and came with a bigger remote, but for what I paid is an outstanding value with a ton of features. I immediately connected it to the internet via the Ethernet connection to ensure that there were no Firmware updates available. To test it, I played my first 4k Ultra DVD the "The Fate of the Furious" and I was impressed with the picture and the sound quality the unit was delivering to my system...

It plays my 4K discs and doesn't cost $250 dollars which is exactly what I was looking for. While the movies all look great, the Blu Ray players actual menu before you get to the disc has the graphics of a computer from the 90's which looks kind of weird compared to the movie. Also something to consider is this DOES NOT HAVE WIFI. At the end of the day not a huge deal because it's not like it can download any apps but if you do have a Blu Ray disc with the BD Live feature to download newer content you would have to connect it through Ethernet. I happened to have an open Ethernet port available. I know for some this would be a more difficult situation. So just know what you're getting into.

    Amazing Player with Amazing Price

So unfortunately, even as I'm writing this review, the price appears to have gone up on this player, but that makes me even more thankful I picked it up when I did. My fiancé and I had been looking into upgrading our entertainment set up to 4K for awhile now, and while we were certain of getting a 4K tv, getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray Player didn't seem like it was going to be in our budget until sometime down the line. This was kind of disappointing to me, as a movie fan and collector, one of the main reasons I wanted to upgrade to 4K was so I could begin branching out and upgrading to the 4K Blu-rays. So when we finally decided to pull the trigger on the television and I found this player on sale online for a killer price (listed at $79.99 on BestBuy.com), I was beyond excited. Most players ranging anywhere from $150-$200 at the lowest end. This one was only marked down to $129.99 when we went in person (which is still a good deal), but thankfully they looked it up and gave me the $79 price that can't be beat (though it looks like it has since been taken down). In addition to our new Samsung HDR 4k television and this player, we also picked up the first season of Westworld on 4k to get the full experience of our new purchases, and I have to say I was blown away. I had already watched the show on our old 1080p setup, and it still looked nice, but this was another level. Like I said, the sale price we picked it up for has since gone away, but even $129 feels like a steal for this quality machine.

Having been disappointed by another Ultra HD Blu-ray player that had just died on me (just out of warranty) I was discouraged about having to shop for another one, especially considering that my previous player was a high-end model that I thought I would miss. Fortunately, this player from LG went on sale at a bargain price and I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did. This is superior to my previous player in every way, despite being a quarter of the price. It's faster, more reliable, and easier to navigate. The only warning I'd give to potential buyers is that this is only a basic player -- no streaming options, and no WiFi (without streaming, that isn't really needed very badly). It does play video files off of an attached USB hard drive with no problem, and its disc playback has been absolutely flawless. Bottom line is, as long as you don't need streaming, this player is hard to beat. Based on what I know now this is the player that I am currently recommending to friends and family who ask.

The video and sound quality is superb. Easy to use and setup the only flaw I have with it is that it doesn't have any of the bells and whistles of my old bluray. It is simply a 4k player and nothing more but what it does it does wonderfully. My tv has all the smartcast, I just liked it on my player so I didn't have to keep switching around.

4K player choice was between this and the Samsung wired. I went with this b/c it was $10 cheaper on sale, and I have a Roku TV so I don't need the apps in the Samsung. Plus I read the Samsung one runs a little noisy. My previous blu-ray player was a Samsung Blu-Ray. It broke within the year and I had to get it warrantied and pay for shipping the replacement. Lame. I've had several LG products and never had one issue. They have all lasted a long time and proven to be reliable. Easy choice here. The LG 4K player runs quiet, is snappy, high quality and looks nice.

was considering getting the xbox s just for the 4k player change my mind as soon as i saw the price for this player worth the money and it's not too shabby I have to say. The picture quality that transmits to the screen is very good for the 4k movies and the upscale for the bluray disc and regular dvd quite amazing wow

Purchased this to replace a blue-ray player that was acting up. This player loads the 4K movies fast. The clarity of the 4K is excellent. Watched World of Warcraft, The Fifth Element and the Great War so far and the looked incredible. The amount of detail on our 55 inch Samsung Tv purchased last year was something I liked and our 13 year old. The blue-ray movies look almost like 4K movies now also being played through our Sony str-dh770 reciever. I also noticed an improvement in the sound quality also with this 4K player. All components used for this setup were purchased at bestbuy and set up by the homeowner. We have to many smart devices so I was glad this player was not so I purchased a second one as a spare two weeks latter.

Slim design. Easy set up. Simple features. Bluray and dvd. Simple remote. Even has 3D!(Ethernet connection not necessary unless you want to connect if you don't have a smart tv or dongle. Note: the ethernet cable is not included, but they are not expensive and you can get at Best Buy, or elsewhere easily). Got this at Best Buy for a great price, on sale! I keep watching (currently not in stock. I want to get another one).

This is a very good Blu-Ray player for beginners. Was very easy to install and use, the quality of the picture was excellent. All you have to do is plug in the power cable and the HDMI cable from the player to the TV and that's it, very simple. I would definitely recommend it for anyone that still uses DVD's and wants a great quality picture. The cost of the product is very reasonable, I would definitely recommend it.

Based on my usage over the last couple of weeks here is my analysis Pros: - The player is able to play both 4K and Blu Ray disks. - The player does a decent job (most of the time) in upscaling the Blu Ray disks to 4K - Cheap compared to other 4K players Cons: - The remote needs to be exactly pointed to the player for it to work - In some 4K disks I have noticed the quality to be pretty average. I will update this point later upon more viewing.
