Yes you can use a light switch to turn on and off the bulbs however you will see a bit of a lag for it to turn on and off.

Yes you can use a switch. I recently bought and am disappointed that while out of town the WiFi went out at my house and now the lights say off line while my other WiFi security items reconnected. Reading the troubleshooting tips it says to turn light switch off and on, not easy to do from 1200 miles away!
