Should work just fine. Your service provider modem / router is giving the signal so this is just taking that and continuing the process. I presume you have Ethernet existing for my answer. This unit don’t have coax input as it’s not a modem / router combo. I have Xfinity and used Moca adapter I bought and wired mine in from coax cable supply for cable box “ just put in three way coax splitter” in middle of our house and installed this router as a second wifi source plus direct Ethernet to my Oled TV and my Xbox’s. Signal was over 800mbs and upstream 44mbs with plan we have from Router. Super fast, Huge improvement.

If you are not sure just call your internet provider and tell them that you only need a modem, if you don't have one already and you want to make sure your router is comparable to the modem.
