The short answer is yes. Any Wi-Fi router, including this one, will work as a normal Wi-Fi router, so long as it has an internet connection going into the uplink port. Once you have done this, the next thing you would want to do is log into your modem and either put it into "bridge" mode (not always possible) or at least turn off the Wi-Fi radio (not necessary but preferable). Make sure to connect all of your wireless devices to your new network.
