How do I determine what's needed for my network? I plan to set up my wifi to serve my house (roughly 50 x 100 feet) and the pool area (about 50 feet from the central hub) and the workshop out back (about a 40 x 60 building about 50 feet from the central hub). What all do I need to make that happen? How do I know how far the range is for the systems?

For large homes you will want to look for 2.4GHZ frequency routers as they reach farther (at the cost of speed) versus 5.0GHZ routers; However, most 5GHZ routers offer a 2.4GHZ mode. Additionally if a single router does not cover your entire home, you can also daisy-chain routers together using ethernet cables in order to increase the area coverage.
