• Hi. No need to have a separate router since the Linksys - Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System is already a stand-alone router.

• I would look into a mesh system. I just tossed my night hawk for a mesh system and it covers over 3000 square feet. I have over 20 devices running at the same time in all area's of my two story house.
