Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, because they don't supply you with a router that handle more then 5-10 devices at once.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A Cable company will never give you any good router that you would want to use for serious gaming of many devices. If its just a couple devices ( Phones, and computers) What the cable companies give you is sufficient; However if you have things like WiFi Cameras/Phones/Tablets/"Nest Products"/Smart TVs/ etc. Then youll need the upgrade.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds to me like you have cable internet. Depending on the provider, you can buy your own router or modem and connect to the internet. While this is a decent router choice. My suggestion would be to split it and do a modem and a router setup. For example a Arris or Motorola surfboard modem is the best modem for the money when it comes to cable internet. Then linksys is a very stable option. In my own home network I don't have cable Internet ( Google fiber here ). But I route that to a linksys wrt3200 acm router and it's been rock solid Internet experience. Even in a jam packed apartment complex. The wrt router is smart enough to sense the environment around you and give you the best band and wireless performance. Even going downstairs and across the road to a coffee shop, while the signal lowers the speed does not get impacted too much. I know this is a lot for a response but I hope it helps. I'm a network administrator for several years and do these things for a living. While that linksys might very well serve you well. I still find that keeping things separate still offers the best possible experience. Enjoy!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, those modem and router combos are junk that ISPs are installing. I just received a new modem and router combo and had my ISP bridge the connection. They basically disabled the wi-fi router built into the modem. I also recently purchased the WRT3200ACM and it is a BEAST!!!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most likely it will be decidedly better than what is provided by the serice provider. Please note that there is currently no service plan that provides download speeds that even approach this unit's capabilities
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi, Myhouse1111. The Linksys WRT3200ACM router is MU-MIMO ready that delivers a maximum speed of 600 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 2.6 Gbps on the 5 GHz band.
