• It works with my Samsung tv and Blu-Ray player. So I suspect it would for you as well. It also works with both an old Comcast DVR and their new X1 box, so I'd hope it could handle Direct-tv commands too.

• I have a Samsung Smart TV and a Sony Blu-Ray and it works just find. I cannot answer for the Direct-TV. But it does work on my cable HD box.
