This unfortunately is one of the product line defects of this model. I had two, and they both did the same thing. In addition, if you drop it, it reboots, forcing you to turn off all your devices with native remotes. And eventually the thing just goes schizo. I recommend the 700, and the Geek Squad Protection with it. It's a great remote, but has some major flaws.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Once your remote starts eating batteries or the backlight fails, there is a defective hardware component in the remote. Though a safe mode firmware update may sometimes resolve the problem, there is usually nothing that can be done (unless you want to open the remote and figure out which piece of electronics is causing the problem ... I'm sure Harmony knows
