Yes you can turn the tv on and change the channel but can't do volume or mute functions . You have to specifically tell Alexa to turn on a channel like fox or abc not go up or down in channels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it will work using the Amazon Echo voice commands. First you will need to install the MyHarmony app on your PC. Setup the hub/remote with Activities. The typical ones are Watch TV, Watch a Move, Listen to Music. MyHarmony will walk you through setting up the devices (i.e. TV, Cable Box, etc). It will then setup the Activity as you let it know how you change stations, select inputs etc. Once you have your Watch TV activity setup (and working!) you are almost there. Now, you will need to load the Amazon Alexa app and then go into Settings->Smart Home. In Smart Home, select the Harmony skill. It will ask you for your Harmony user name and password to enable the "skill". Once that is done, you will select Discover devices. After a little while it should show you your Watch TV activity and hopefully other channels you can select. For example, mine shows "Sports" as select ESPN. Now, you can say "Alexa, turn on TV" and it should run the Harmony "Watch TV' activity. You can also change stations - "Alexa, watch ESPN" should change stations to ESPN. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can use Echo in conjunction with the hub to turn the tv on and change channels. It could take a bit of tweaking to make sure it changes to the right channel, you need to keep it simple as possible and voice train Echo, but it can work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Alexa (Echo) and the Harmony work very well together. He'll be able to start up his home entertainment center as well as switch between different configurations such as watching normal TV and switching to something like Apple TV or Chromecast. You can also pre-set particular channels to come up by voice command. Alexa is only capable (at the moment) of working with a single Harmony Hub. I have two and am using an application called YONOMI to allow access to my second hub. This only matters if you're trying to control more than one entertainment center. Some work will be required to set up "Devices" and "Activities" on the Harmony. But once done these have worked just fine for me. The only thing I'm not sure about is fine tuning such as changing the volume, it hasn't come up for me. But I imagine the harmony can be set up to accomplish this as well.
