Four possibilities come to mind: 1. I would suggest that you plug the RCA plugs into an Auxillary/Tape/CD input (if available) as opposed to the phono input; 2. the distance from your phone/Alexa to the Bluetooth receiver and what other items might be using the same frequency (2.4GHz?) could be a culprit; 3. likewise, the volume level at your phone/Alexa - if it is either too low or too high, your signal to noise ratio might be off (the volume level at your Yamaha receiver is related); 4. the quality of your cable and its shielding - bad connections = poor sound.
