This adaptor only works to receive your bluetooth device signal to play throught the speakers or device to which it is connected - it does not work the other way to transmit out to your wireless speakers/device.

        Answer

This receives Bluetooth and outputs a low-level signal that you plug into a power amplifier, such as the 'Aux In' or 'Tape In' on the back of a home receiver unit. The speakers are driven by the receiver unit. The Logitech Bluetooth Receiver does not have enough power on its own to drive the speakers.

          Answer

Yes you can connect this to a receiver which is actually what I bought it for. You can them pair any Bluetooth capable device and steam audio to it. The volume selection is from both do I usually set the receiver a bit higher and then adust the streaming device volume to my liking. The music song is only from your device

you could - just keep in mind that the Logitech adapter needs power, so you're still somewhat tethered.

              Answer

3.5mm jack connectivity, yes. 12vdc power, no or at least not without some adaptation on your part. Its native power comes via a 115vac power block that looks like it converts down to 5vdc.

sounds like a ground loop. Is something touching the RCA or headphone cables? Are the audio cables running parallel to a power cable? You might have a bad power supply on the Logitech device, as it shouldn't produce any sounds on its own.

                    Answer

No, this device receives media through bluetooth it does not transmit via bluetooth. Besides, if you have bluetooth headphones you don't need to put a Bluetooth receiver in front of them.. it would be redundant. If you want to use headphones with this receiver you would use headphones that need to plug into it. If you are using Bluetooth headphones, you simply pair them to your streaming music source. No adapter is required.
