Q: QuestionIs there a device that enables old, non-blutooth enabled speakers to "read" transmitted bluetooth signals?is there a device that I can plug very, very old speakers into, that will enable said speakers to receive bluetooth signals from new bluetooth enabled devices?

• A:Answer This receives Bluetooth and outputs a low-level signal that you plug into a power amplifier, such as the 'Aux In' or 'Tape In' on the back of a home receiver unit. The speakers are driven by the receiver unit. The Logitech Bluetooth Receiver does not have enough power on its own to drive the speakers.

Q: QuestionMusic source.If I plug adapter into a stereo receiver, can I source the music from an an I Pod? Would you control volume & song selection from stereo or I Pod?

• A:Answer Yes you can connect this to a receiver which is actually what I bought it for. You can them pair any Bluetooth capable device and steam audio to it. The volume selection is from both do I usually set the receiver a bit higher and then adust the streaming device volume to my liking. The music song is only from your device

Q: QuestionI bought this device to connect to a home stereoI have a loud hum (like feedback) when the blue tooth is on and the music sounds very flat and dull. When I change sources I do not have this problem, any ideas?

• A:Answer I had the same problem but solved it by scrapping the provided cable and using my own RCA cables -- red/white tip on both ends, not like the mini-stereo plug provided.

The Bluetooth Speaker Adapter allows you to play music wirelessly from a device like your phone or tablet, to a sound system that doesn't have the Bluetooth capability by default, using the 3.5mm or Stereo inputs. So looking at the ports on the back of the Bose Wave IV, it does look like it has an AUX in port, so you should be good to go yes!

• A:Answer Not as purchased. It's power supply comes from a 110V AC typical "wall wart" transformer that drops it down to a DC signal. That said you certainly can find a car adapter to purchase that would power it if you dig around a bit. And yes, if you had a device with bluetooth audio paired to this device, you could feed the output of the device from its 3.5mm jack into the external/AUX input that many car radios have. Although almost any device that would be playing music would also have that same output jack and you could handle it that way. I could see someone doing what you describe so that maybe someone in the back seat streaming Pandora could sync to the car system to play music without needing a long 3.5mm to 3.5mm cord.

• A:Answer I'm not sure. There is a simple stereo audio out jack that is hooked to a set of amplified computer speakers. I believe it has to have amplified speakers. Your receiver should work if it has an auxiliary input. So far, mine has worked very well.

Q: QuestionWhen I Bluetooth music from my Alexa or phone the sound is very distorted or muffled and no volume control. I plugged this into the phono RCA plugs on my Yamaha receiver because I was not using them could that be the issue?

• A:Answer Four possibilities come to mind: 1. I would suggest that you plug the RCA plugs into an Auxillary/Tape/CD input (if available) as opposed to the phono input; 2. the distance from your phone/Alexa to the Bluetooth receiver and what other items might be using the same frequency (2.4GHz?) could be a culprit; 3. likewise, the volume level at your phone/Alexa - if it is either too low or too high, your signal to noise ratio might be off (the volume level at your Yamaha receiver is related); 4. the quality of your cable and its shielding - bad connections = poor sound. It receives a Bluetooth audio signal from some device and outputs analog right and left channel audio that you can plug into the analog inputs on your amplifier. To do what you are asking you need a Bluetooth transmitter that takes an audio output signal and transmits a Bluetooth audio signal.
