you could - just keep in mind that the Logitech adapter needs power, so you're still somewhat tethered.

However, speakers usually have built in power amplifiers, headphones are powered off the audio signal alone. Using this device to drive headphones will lower the sound quality, clip, and cut out at higher volumes.
