So connecting to the receiver will be no problem since most have the red and white AV. If your tv has the ability to find and connect to bluetooth devices, that is helpful, but the tv should be able to stream or transmit signal and not just receive it. Most tv's, I would think, are able to receive signal only, like they have this device already built in. This device will only allow you to receive bluetooth data and then transmit it into auxiliary or AV output. If the tv can push its audio via bluetooth than yeah but you will need to check the tv model to see if the bluetooth device is capable of transmitting or just receiving.

I am using it for my BOSE Solo TV sound system. It working good. Sony STR DE635 have below inputs.
