• You can use a standard Ethernet cable or 2.4 Ghz WiFi.

• Since it is controlled by the app on your phone I would say yes. It can not be set up without it

• It needs to be on your home network and the same network as your cell phone.

• Yes, this needs Wi-Fi to work properly. Only works on 2ghz signal.
