Yes. I've used a US Robotics Sportster 56k modem and I'll occasionally get 33.6 connections. But most of the time it is a 9600 or 14.4k baud connection. I also use MagicJack with a Hayes 1200 baud Smartmodem connected to a TRS-80 Color Computer and get excellent results. You can count on 9600 being what you should expect. Anything higher and consider it lucky. I use it for dialing BBS's (I know I can just telnet into them, but that kind of loses the 'experience').
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.if you are wondering if you can plug a dial-up modem into the device, the answer is, being VOIP, modems, fax machines, and security alarms though not completely incompatible, are not officially supported, and work to varying degrees, i personally have never gotten a 56k modem to work for dial up services, but i can occasionally send and receive faxes with the device, and have not personally tested it with an alarm that requires a phone line - this comes from there being a delay that is imperceptible to humans but not to devices and also the compression it goes through
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A phone can be connected to the MagicJack module. The other connector is for the network cable that is connected to your router.
