Hello and thank you for your question. Marantz receivers are not designed to be placed outside. The receiver must be installed indoors.

Yes, it can be setup for outside use. But, NOT recommended. This Marantz has GREAT sound and features, but it is NOT intended to be used outside for extended periods, i.e., weather. Will not withstand harsh coldness; heat; rain; etc.
