Amazing receiver, sound quality the receiver can produce is amazing. When pairing them with Klipsch Reference Premiere speakers gives them a bright but neutral sound. This receiver has more of a warm sound meaning better low frequencies. You have many customization options available to you. Such as crossover, equalizer, bass, treble, and so much more. The reason i gave it four stars is because this can be difficult to use and they dont give you the best manual so have to resort to online. Second drawback is the FM radio is difficult to use and doesn't have the best reception frequency. Those two drawbacks are very minor to me but other then that this is a great receiver and recommend this to anyone. But only had this a couple weeks so we will see how long this will last.

Sound was great. Bought this as replacement for my Denon S940H, I didn’t realize I was missing a lot in terms of sound quality until I had this. Setup was so easy since I have all my speakers already in place.

We're very sorry that you had a poor experience with the SR5015. We hope that you calibrated the Audyssey software to address any sound quality issues.

Tons of power and unreal how great the audio is after calibrating. Highly recommend for a high power receiver. I have Sonos and the Heos portion works slick!

This Marantz SR5015 is the best receiver I have owned. It was recommended by Best Buy to replace a Denon SRV1500 which was several years old. It is the hub of my theater room along with a Sony 6000 projector, a Panasonic 9000 DVD player and a Firestick, all purchased from Best Buy. The receiver seems to make music sound better with more depth and stereo separation than before. I would prefer a full size dial rather than the small porthole window but that's the trademark of Marantz.

Got this to replace an SR7002 I had for about 7 years and waited 3 years to get this one. Looked at other brands but held out because the previous was excellent.
Over all the sound quality is the same on my set of Monitor Audio speakers, rich, bright and handles the speakers with 100W/per vs 110W/per well.
Set up was much easier as the menus are less detailed but have similar control. Audyssey was one of the things I wanted again and it was again much easier. One thing it caught during testing was I had accidentally reversed polarity on one of the rears...told me so and fixed it and proceeded with the 8 position test. All went quickly and saved that setting. Over all it doesn't have as many choices for sound types but you Can access it on the fly and ended up setting it to flat rather than enhanced...personal preference. The others sound good but I don't like being blown from the room and Must have clear center channel for voice as movie ADR's today override low voice and when someone mumbles it's lost in the overpowering "Sound Track".
One of the things we like best is the Upconverted 4k. Our Sony BR is not 4k but our 2 year old Samsung Smart TV is. Standard BR's are really crisp now and really enjoyed watching Avatar again in Converted UHD with tons more detail. Even DTV is much better through the receiver and streaming is too.
One of the negatives is that it doesn't have additional Switched and Un-switched receptacles on the back like the SR7002 did...so for now I have to switch the sub off manually...but I'm working on a solution.
The one caveat I am concerned about is the HDMI boards sensitivity and longevity. Lost the one on the SR7002 and no one could/would replace or repair it...hence it became a boat anchor. There are concerns out there on forums and such about this issue. But if it last another 7-10yrs...I might be alright with that other than the waste stream.
Overall I would recommend this receiver, primarily for ease of setup and the Audyssey. IMHO Marantz still hold a place in the Hi End Market deservedly so. If we could have afforded the higher end unit I would have gone there...but as an old geezer engineer my ears aren't what they use to be...who knows.

This is my second Marantz receiver. My old one is SR 7007 which of course is more powerful (125 W per channel) than SR 5015 (100 W per channel). But the old one does not support Dolby Atmos and will not pass through Dolby Vision. Also old one does not have eARC. Using this SR 5015 with Sony BRAVIA TV X85K with 120-Hz refresh rate and 4K resolution. Though I used to watch movies in my home theater, I stopped watching in the theater after this TV and Receiver Combination. Using Klipsch RP 8060 for speakers. Marantz did an amazing job! The living room sounds like a small theater!

Excellent receiver while I had it. My BB In-home consultant suggested an upgrade to this receiver. I didn't particularly care for the small center display window, but I knew Marantz was well-known quality brand. The Marantz handled everything great in my new home theater set-up with my KEF branded speakers. Unfortunately, I had to return it because the consultant didn't count the total number of speakers installed for my setup. I know, it doesn't sound like a hard thing to count, but it happened. Upon further review, I needed a 9.2 AV receiver vice a 7.2. When you go to a 9.2 or larger setup, the receivers get much more expensive. I was already over my budget for the 7.2 home theater setup, so I wasn't really thrilled at this point. The Marantz 9.2 receiver was about $400 more than a comparable Denon (which, btw, owns Marantz), so (with help from a manager) I ended up exchanging this for the Denon x3700h and have no regrets. Works the same as the Marantz and has a better front display so I can see/read what is displayed in the receiver's viewing window from across the room. Functionality-wise, I really can't tell much difference between the two. There probably is a difference somewhere, I just can't seem to find where that difference is and if it would be worth it to spend $400 or more to get the Marantz. Good luck on your shopping!

The Marantz SR5015 receiver I purchased is paired with Martin Logan and Definitive Technology speakers. I also have a Martin Logan center channel and Sub. The sound is crisp and clean. The Sub along with the Def Techs supply a heart thumping bass although I am not sure my neighbors are as happy as I am. I would recommend this receiver to anyone looking to upgrade the home system to a premium sound quality system.

Initial thoughts are that I like the look and sounds good out of the box. The setup felt a little clunky, but I guess it was trying to be easy for every skill level. Calibration took some patience, but results were proven. Really cleaned up the sound. More than enough power and inputs for most households.

Love it! Went in to purchase a Denon and after going back and for listening to both it was an easy upsell. Spec sheets would have you think otherwise. On paper it seemed apples to apples. I almost purchased based on that flawed theory. I highly recommend finding a store where you can listen to it and compare it to other AVR's

Great Receiver. I Like Marantz because of the sound it reproduces. I have been using Marantz products for over 50 years. Right now I have 2 Marantz receivers and One Marantz Processor.
Warm and Rich compared to others (which tend to be to bright for me). All of my units are paired with Martin Logan speakers. Speaker selection is important. I listen to a lot of Jazz. If it can play music well, movies will play great. I had the SR5010 which worked perfectly. I only upgraded because the SR5015 had 2 way (Receive and Transmit) BlueTooth. The 5010 only had one way (Receive Only) Bluetooth. Needed it because of Bluetooth headphone.

I looked at quite a few receivers, tried a few, and then settled on this one; I'm comfortable with my choice. Sound quality is good and musically balanced - not too bright and not too subdued, about what Marantz are known for. Video upscaling seems to work fairly well although I have noticed some fuzziness from time to time, but I'm not sure this is due to the receiver. Very broad feature set that I'm still working through. The phono performance is very good - between the amp and my speakers it reveals how awful many recordings from the 70's and 80's were. The receiver process coded audio well - much better than the 2016 Pioneer I replaced. It could use a bit more power although it gets loud enough. I wish it had a bigger display - that is my only issue up to now.

I bought this model due to the price point vice the SR6015. I also liked the fact that there is no internal microphone in the SR5015. Alexa and all that. I really do not use.
Sounds fantastic for music, surround, superior upscaled 8k signal, and ease of use. I think I made a great choice. Happy with product.

Just Great!! The first one gave up half way through setup, but this one, Just Great!! You can just run through set up, turn it on and use it. But. If you want it is almost infinitely adjustable. Too much to try to explain in a review. The owners manual is 309 pages long and packed with well organized in-depth information. Almost anything you want to know. I love it and it sounds great.
