Yes the app is only for those who want it. Personally we don't use it either. The washer dryer do however try promoting it thru popups lol

It’s hard to use without the app. I don’t like it for this reason and also when you have bulky loads they become off balance. The machine goes crazy, like in the old days. You have to rearrange everything and that’s maddening! It also will twist your clothes sometimes, also makes you crazy. Would not recommend this. It’s crazy that you have to use your phone, etc just so that you can get the laundry done!!
