“When I connect this to my pc with a link cable does the pc have to be a good gaming pc to handle games? or does the quest 2 itself handle it all, or is the cable important too if I’m using off brand ones ?”

Quest 2 does not handle it all when connecting to a pc. You do need a decent pc to use with pc. Their site should have specs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you want to connect to the pc, you send to have scan done on your pc to see if it can handle Quest 2. I don't believe it matters about what cable to get. I got the official oculus one. The quest 2 can play games solely on it's own. Just need the space and wifi. You don't need to hook it up to your pc to play/enjoy the oculus. You can buy games directly from the headset or app.
