Unlikely, Nintendo gets their money either way so scalpers are fine with them

Please try again later.If they were to meet the demand for a year after release, they would only make more money, even if there ends up being overstock at the end, and the scalpers would be left "holding the bag". Sure, they'd figure it out and try to compensate by scalping less, but that would still work out in the favor of the publishers as supply is titrated over the course of that year. Meanwhile, we "kids" out here would have plenty of opportunity to pay extra for these editions.
