Out of the box, the Surface Go can only run Windows Store Apps. This is a limitation of the Windows 10 S mode that it comes with by default. You can however convert (upgrade) this to Windows 10 Home Edition at no cost. At that point you can install any traditional Windows application on it. How well it will work depends highly on the application.

When you're choosing software to download, be sure to compare the specs with the device you would like to run it on before purchase. This device has an Intel Pentium Gold processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. If you're interested, we also have a variety of apps compatible with Windows Ink that you can check out here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/collections/windowsinkcollection.
