Yes. The chat pad has a slightly larger whole for it's included headset. I've tried to put in the Xbox headset included in the console box and it does not fit the chat pad headset audio hole. So the chat pad needs to be with it's custom audio head set.

Yes, but only for chat related programs. No youtube or Netflix. Just chating it is the same with other headphones like bose.chat and voice comands only. You are better off getting the turtle beach headset adapter, All headsets for all uses work with that device and use a wireless keyboard/mouse for typing/chating. This is now available since the nov/dec update.

you can use any headset that plugs into it, i use logitech 930 because of the multi setup that comes and built into the headset. i can listen through the xb1 controller, the headset batt, or from the tv wired or wireless. to use the talk part i can use the inline mic, boom mic with batt or xb1 controller batt. note batt time will be different depending on your own headset.
