From my experiences with console launches in the past they do try to send a few to each store for walk in customers on release day. I would definitely talk with management at the store as release date approaches and see if they will be getting a few to sell to walk-ins though do keep in mind with the demand of this console through the roof you will probably need to be camping out several hours if not days in front of store to secure one of those release day allotments.
