they are a bit on the circular side of things however, they are actually pretty decent size, so they don't squish your ear, I usually have that problem with circular headphones, but I dint have this issue with this one, I'm happy with them.

They are more oval in shape and the padding is pretty thick memory foam type that is a snug pillow fit. It is covered in an alternative leather type material that does not breath very well so things might get a little warm after a while but that might be your cue to give the gaming session a break and rest your eyes anyway. Overall i would say that this is a very conformable earcup.
